Taking a dog into Lowe's
Yes. Lowe's states that it is a pet-friendly store and welcomes pets, not only service animals, as long as you keep your dog under control. Lowe's says it complies with the ADA, so a service animal may come into the store with you; its control rules give way where they would interfere with the animal's work.
What Lowe's actually requires
- Your dog must be heeling or walking calmly beside you, or harnessed, leashed or carried.
- You are responsible for your pet at all times and are expected to stay in full control of it.
- If your dog has an accident while you shop, you can ask an associate for cleaning supplies, and an associate will help if you cannot clean it up yourself.
- Aggression towards people or other animals, jumping on people or displays, and barking or growling are not acceptable; you will be asked to leave and may come back without the pet to finish your purchase.
- Service animal requirements are set by the ADA, and the same control rules apply unless they interfere with the animal's work or your disability prevents you from following them.
- At participating locations Lowe's and Petco have partnered, so some stores carry pet supplies and services inside the store.
Where this comes from
“Yes. Lowe's is a pet-friendly store, welcoming your service animals and pets to shop with you.”
Source: Lowe's — Lowe's Pet Policy. Published by the company itself, read and recorded on September 7, 2026 (dataset 2026.09). We publish the operator’s own wording rather than a summary of what other sites report, and we do not turn “varies by location” into a yes.
Before you rely on this
Pet rules, fees and limits change without notice, and staff at an individual store can apply them differently from what head office publishes. Treat this page as the question to ask, not the final answer: contact the specific store and confirm before you set out with your dog.
