How a page is produced

Pages are built from a structured dataset — breed traits, condition profiles, cost models — and drafted with AI assistance against that dataset, then checked against automated quality gates before publishing. The gates cover factual structure (every health page must state symptoms, causes, what to try and when to see a vet), internal link validity, required disclaimers, and metadata length.

We say this plainly because it matters: AI assistance is used in drafting. It is not used to invent statistics, and pages that fail a quality gate are not published.

Health content

Health pages are informational. They describe how a condition typically presents in a specific breed, what raises the risk, what owners can reasonably do at home, and the signs that warrant a same-day veterinary visit. They do not diagnose, and they do not recommend prescription treatment. Where a symptom can indicate an emergency — bloat being the clearest example — the page says so before anything else.

Ratings and verdicts

Comparison verdicts and lifestyle scores come from the same trait dataset for every breed, so the answer to "which sheds less" is consistent across the site. Commercial relationships never affect a score. Where a breed is a poor fit for most homes, the page says so.

Updates and corrections

Pages are reviewed on a rolling basis, prioritising the ones people actually read. Substantive changes update the page's modified date. If you find an error, contact us with the URL and what is wrong — corrections to health content are made as a priority.
